Can I track shifts for clerks?
Enable Time Tracking
Quail can optionally track clock-in/clock-out times for your clerks, making it easy to tally up hours worked for each clerk. By default this feature is disabled, but you can enable it for your store by opening up your Settings page (under the Store link in the sidebar) and toggling the switch for Enable time tracking:
Clocking In
Once time tracking is enabled, all your clerks & admins will be automatically prompted to clock in & out when logging in to Quail:
Additionally, clerks can quickly clock out or in by clicking the clocked-in status indicator on the left:
Reviewing Shifts
Once time tracking is enabled, you’ll see a new Shifts link in your sidebar on the left (as shown above). Click that guy, and you’ll see all the shifts worked by your clerks in the last 7 days (you can adjust the date range for what shifts are displayed by changing the dates in the top-left):
For each clerk you’ll see a breakdown of their shifts worked, grouped by day. You can approve shifts by clicking on the blue question mark at the right of each shift; approving shifts is a handy way for you to record that a recorded shift is correct and verified. You can also delete or edit shifts by clicking the or icons on the right.
You can also manually record shifts that weren’t tracked in Quail by clicking the ADD NEW SHIFT button:
Pick a date, clock in time, and clock out time, then click Save Shift to record the new shift.
If there’s a problem with a recorded shift — usually a missing clock-in or clock-out — you’ll see a warning:
To fix the shift, click the orange Missing button and record the correct clock-in/clock-out times.
