Interested in Quail's integrated payment processing? Do you want an alternative to Square, Clover, or GoDaddy for taking in-person card payments? Email us at support@quailhq.com and we'll let you know how you can get built-in card processing in Quail. It's super easy to use, has no monthly fee, and pays straight into your bank account. We'll even send you a free card reader.

If you have reached out and are staring at a newly delivered box from Quail containing your card reader – Here is how you start using it.

First step – this one’s easy! – take the charger out of the box and find the charging cable we’ve included in the box underneath it.

Plug the USB end of the cable into the wall plug, and the barrel connector (the little round one) into the port on the reader that’s marked with a lighting bolt.

Go ahead and power it on and plug it in to fully charge it. Once it powers on for the first time you will need to connect it to your wifi; just select the wireless network and enter your password.

Once it connects, it will show either your logo (if you sent us one) or the standard Quail splashscreen. This is what you it should look like when it is ready to go:

The last thing you’ll need to do is select your newly-paired card reader in Quail. Go to the New Transaction screen and click Select a Card Reader:

Select your Quail Payments Card Reader from the list, then click Close:

That’s it! Quail will display a little indicator whenever it’s set up to send charges to the reader instead of expecting you to ring them up separately:
